Welcome to the 2011 Ambleside Marafun!

We are delighted to invite you to take part in the Ambleside Marafun on the 9th of October 2011 (or "9-10-11" as we like to refer to it!), which is an event for teams of 5 runners, and an opportunity to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and CancerCare in the South Lakes.

It's your chance to participate in a marathon without running 26.2 miles! Starting from Ambleside Rothay Park, each team member runs one 5.2 mile lap, through magnificent Lake District scenery.

Teams can be male, female or mixed - Club or fun runners. The minimum age for team members is 15.

Unfortunately, due to various contibutory factors, the event has had to be postponed. Please see attached letter

2010 - What a result!

We would like to thank all those who took part in last years run where through sponsorship of individual teams we were able to raise £20,000.00!

This is no small amount and we were very proud to pass £10,000.00 onto the British Heart Foundation and about £10,000.00 to the Oncology Unit at Westmorland General Hospital. Cheques being presented on evening of 22nd Feb at the Ambleside Parish Centre in Ambleside, and a prize for the team which raised most sponsorship.

This year is we want to do better and 2011 being the 50th anniversary of British Heart Foundation they will be one of the recipients of the money raised, the second being Cancer Care in the South Lakes
